Using DUXWAX compound, a duck or goose can be thoroughly plucked within five minutes. Simply dip the bird, cool and peel away the feathers!

Step One: Heat up a container of water deep enough to dunk the whole bird. A 5 gallon metal bucket works great. When the water is hot, begin to add compound. Continue to add compound until you have about 3/4" of melted compound on top of the water. Besure to control the water temperature, as hot water will begin to cook the bird.

Step Two: Completely dip the bird into the melted compound. The compound quickly penetrates to the skin, gripping the feathers. Cool the bird. Dipping the bird in a bucket of cold water works well.

Step Three: When the compound has hardened around the feathers, simply peel the feathers off the bird. The compound will not remove the skin.

Step Four: Any remaining pinfeathers can be removed by hand plucking or by repeating the above process. Now, finish cleaning the bird.

Note: DUXWAX COMPOUND CAN BE REUSED! To save Duxwax, place waxed feathers in a make-shift cheese cloth bag. Dip the cheese cloth (with feathers inside) back into your hot water compound bath. The compound will re-melt, seep through the cheese cloth, leaving the feathers behind. The used compound will re-mix back with the unused compound. Remove the cheese cloth bag from the hot bath and remove the feathers. Keep the cheese cloth for next time.
