The revolutionary new universal gambrel makes it a snap to hang, weigh and clean your game. The aircraft aluminum spreader bar and cable design lets you hang anything from hogs to elk with ease.
One of the greatest advantages of the new gambrel design is that it allows a person to remove the hams one at a time without the other ham falling on the ground or the user needing assistance. To weigh the animal, simply insert the front legs into one loop and the rear legs into the other loop, attach your scale to the hanger eye and hoist up. The scale stays at eye level for easy reading. The Gambrel is tested to 850 lbs and weighs a mere 10 ounces.

Inventor Mark L. Waltrip has a patent pending invention entitled the Universal Gambrel. As an avid hunter, Inventor Waltrip recognized the widespread need for such a device, which allows hunters to skin and clean their game without damaging tendons or bones as with a conventional gambrel. In addition, the gambrel can be adjusted up or down the legs to compensate for the size of the animal and cleaning area. Hunters have been introduced to a variety of equipment improvements and advances in recent years, making them increasingly successful. After killing game, hunters are then faced with the task of skinning and cleaning the animal. Conventional gambrels, which are hoisted over a tree limb or other support structure, support the game for cleaning. However, because these devices pierce the animal's legs and they often rip the tendons and bones of the leg, making it difficult to re-hoist the animal. With the development of the revolutionary Universal Gambrel, hunters may skin and clean their game in an easier and more efficient manner. The Universal Gambrel consists of one continuous piece of aircraft cable that is fastened on each end to a spreader pipe. The cable, which slides through a perpendicular hole on each end of the pipe, forms an adjustable loop on each end, each for holding an individual rear or front leg of the animal. To aid in weighing the animal with a scale, the Universal Gambrel can also be looped around both front and rear legs at the same time. Using the animal's weight, the loop automatically tightens around the legs, without causing any ripping of the tendons or bones. The Universal Gambrel is provided with a retaining eye hook at its midpoint to mount it using a pulley or hoist rope. "One of the greatest advantages of the invention's design is that is allows for the spine to be cut loose from the rear hams so that one ham can be easily removed at a time, without it falling on the ground or the user needing assistance as with a traditional gambrel," asserts Inventor Waltrip. A Patent has been filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in Washington, D.C. Inventor Mark L. Waltrip is presently working with Montgomery & Associates, LLC in order to commercialize the Universal Gambrel. | ||||
