We live to fish. And like all anglers, our constant goal is to catch more fish and have more fun. That’s why we invented Fish Tickle. Perhaps the smartest fish attractant scent system ever. And a heck of an upgrade for any tackle box.

The science behind the fun.

The Fish Tickle concept centers on imbedding scents in calcium carbonate tablets that leave an underwater scent trail as they dissolve. They resemble vitamin tablets. But to fish, it’s like candy.

We blend natural, freeze-dried bait with synthetic scents. Freeze-drying preserves the all-important amino acids and fatty acids in the bait. This method not only extends the shelf life of our tablets, but prolongs the underwater effectiveness to at least 30 minutes. In fresh or salt water. Competitive products just can’t touch Fish Tickle’s underwater longevity. Messy oil-based scents — jellies and sprays — decompose quickly when exposed to air. So shelf lives are short and contaminated tackle can easily sour. In water, these oils quickly dissipate on the surface, rendering them ineffective after an initial scent spike, and polluting the fisheries.

As a fisherman, I have fished for years using oil based scent with success and frustration. These attractants are effective because they have natural amino and fatty acids in the which activate a gland in the fish (chemo-receptors) and make them want to eat.

Oil based scents have major drawbacks. Like a corpse that is decaying, the amino and fatty acids in the oil based scents break down and decompose as they are exposed to air. The shelf life for these products is very short.

They lose their ability to attract fish. Also, if your lures are not washed with soap and water every day after use, they will "sour" over night. Everything that makes contact with the oils needs to be washed daily.

Another drawback for oil based scent is that it is messy to apply. They are easily spilled and get your boots, boat and gear sticky and smelly.

Oil based scent products are not environmentally friendly either. They will float off your line creating oil slicks on the surface of the water. This not only pollutes the water, it leaves the angler wondering how much scent is actually left on his line to attract fish. This spiking effect gives you a lot of scent at first and very little as time wears on.
