The basic idea behind the Limbo was to create a simple, freestanding lightweight solo tent. When looking to make it lightweight, we asked ourselves, How low can you go? Maybe your looking to cut your pack weight. Maybe your just looking just looking for a way to justify the weight of the extra peice of gear. The limbo is light enough. Its also light enough to remove the guilt about bringing the extra weight of a French press with you. So go on, have your java and your lightweight too. Features:
How about a tent that sets up at the drop of a hat? Literally. Just remove the cinch strap, toss it away from you and set up is complete. If you need a little extra protection from the elements, simply add the backbone and the fly and you are ready to go. If you want to lessen your load, leave the base at home and just use the backbone and fly. Lighter still? Lose the backbone and you can guy it out with help from your trekking poles. Its kind of like getting two tents in one. Adventure racing? Superfast set up and take down means more time racing, less time setting camp. Shelter hiking? The Twists base provides added protection from insects and any other shelter creepy crawlies. Shelter full? You still have a full tent to use for the night. Oh, and the packaged weight for the whole thing is under three and half pounds.s Features:
Sometimes youre just camping, not backpacking. It might be a trip to a nearby state park, an overnight at a music festival, or a place to catch some shut eye between laps at a 24-hour mountain bike race. Maybe its just a day at the beach and youre looking for some escape from the sun. With the Conga its only 60 seconds to set up, so you can focus on enjoying other things, and not get stuck setting up your tent. Features: |

Catoma is what you would call a new old-company. We started building tents in 1993 when we built our first tent for use by the USDI Wilderness Fire Fighters. We needed a name for our company, and with our building located on the banks of the Catoma Creek, we decided to borrow its name and Catoma was born. Since then, we have continued to design and build tents to the Fire Service and other specialized customers. Weve always liked out tents, and after many of our customers asking, Do you make a consumer version of this? After a tweak here and there it was time to test our ability to make a tent for backpackers like us.
Our first design was driven by the desire to make an extremely lightweight solo tent that was self-supporting and also under the 3 pound mark. We needed to see just how low we could go with the weight, so it was time to Limbo; our free standing solo that has a minimum weight of 2 pounds 15 oz. Then we had to Twist, a unique solo whose base can be set up at the drop of a hat (or in this case, tent). Last but not least, our ultra-fast set-up, the Conga, is a dream for canoeing, car camping, festivals or any less-than-wilderness adventure you might have. Theres more in store from Catoma, so keep checking back to see what else is coming to the party.
