Collecting
Scouting Information
Your
Cornerstone to Hunting Success
If
you are like most hunters, you realize how important scouting is to your
hunting success. You keep a journal, use several trail cameras and have
aerial photos full of marks showing tree stands, food plots, rub lines,
sheds found etc.
The
problem after collecting this information is, how do you put it all together?
Cross
referencing weather conditions, moon phases, observation locations and
times is almost impossible when the information is written in a journal
or on the backs of hundreds of trail camera photos.
We
have created the solution, BuckSpy software.
Our
line of programs are designed with a simple calendar format and point
and click answer system which makes organizing photos and answering questions
quick and easy. The programs offer a wide range of capabilities from simply
organizing and creating trail camera photo albums to generating date filtered
reports that show Buck to Doe ratios and Observation Rates to using an
Interactive Aerial Photo/ Topography Map combination where you can mark
visual observations by simply clicking your mouse.
Our
Programs help you Unlock your Trail Cameras full Potential.
BuckSpy
Basic
The
trail camera may be the greatest scouting tool ever introduced to the
hunting industry. If you use, or are considering using, a trail camera
the first thing you realize is the amount of the pictures you begin to
accumulate. What are you going to do with all of them? BuckSpy Basic is
the answer for the easy storing and organizing of your trail camera images.
You can rotate and magnify your photos so you can study antler characteristics
and the pictures are organized in our very simple calendar format. You
can even create your own trail camera photo album which separates the
bucks, does, fawns and other General Wildlife photos into their own categories.
Here
are a few of the things that BuckSpy Basic can do:
- Store
trail camera images
- Create
your own Trail Camera Photo Album
- Record
visual observations
- Record
harvest data
- Record
general wildlife observations
BuckSpy
Advanced
When
you look at a trail camera photo it is easy to see the deer in the picture,
but there is more in the photo than what meets the eye. What
area on the property was it taken?, What weather conditions were present?,
Was it a daytime photograph?, Has this buck been observed on the property
before?, are all important questions to answer. BuckSpy helps put all
the pieces together by allowing you to store images captured by trail
cameras, either digital or 35mm, AND information about Visual Observations
made, in chronological order with its easy to use calendar format and
point and click answer system. It combines all the information from your
trail camera with the information from your hunting journal for a more
complete view of your hunting area. You can create and print your own
trail camera albums as well keep detailed information on harvests, habitat
improvements made to your property, stand or blind specific information,
deer sign found data, general wildlife information and much more. It even
generates date filtered reports to show you Buck to Doe ratios, Age Class
Structure, Observation Rates, Harvest Data and much more. It will also
produce reports detailing your habitat enhancements such as soil test
results, liming and fertilization rates, type of plot planted, timber
stand improvements etc. Here are some of the features found on BuckSpy
Advanced:
- Store

BuckSpy
Advanced with Mapping
By
combining the information from your hunting journal, your trail camera
and now an Interactive Aerial Photo. BuckSpy Advanced with Mapping
gives you all the functionality of BuckSpy Advanced as well as
the ability to combine a topography map and aerial photo. The program
will allow you to download two maps of up to 1 square mile from anywhere
in the United States. (Additional maps can be purchased through www.BuckSpy.com.)
The topography lines can be layered over the aerial and then removed whenever
you choose. The program will also generate date filtered map views showing
you observation and harvest locations, food plots, tree stand and ground
blind locations and more. As you make entries in the journal that can
be referenced by GPS coordinates, the map will automatically display these
points or you can simply click on the map in the desired location on the
aerial, and the coordinates are automatically filled in the appropriate
boxes. You can even click on the icon and the journal entry that was created
for the icon is displayed.BuckSpy Advanced is a powerful scouting
tool, but BuckSpy Advanced with Mapping is the Ultimate Hunting Journal.
